High School Music News from Mr. Halligan
This a meaningful time of year for Mohawk Music students, who are reflecting on their achievements over the course of the year and preparing to share the fruits of their labor with the community in a series of important concerts and ceremonies.  Below you can find info about our springtime performance schedule.  Also, please mark your calendars for the year’s final meetings of the Mohawk Music Association.  The MMA will be electing officers for next year.  Please be involved!
I hope to see you at our Spring Concert on May 10!  Bring your friends and family – it will be a great evening of music!

Kids in Concert Recap
Last Thursday at Mohawk, elementary school musicians came together to get a taste of performing before a packed house in a big auditorium!  Students from 4th, 5th, and 6th grades performed together in a combined chorus and a combined band.  Heath Elementary School String students also performed.  Congratulations to all of the students and adults who participated in Kids in Concert!
Tuesday May 10, Spring Concert – 6:30pm, Mohawk Auditorium
Middle School and High School Bands and Choirs will perform, plus High School Strings.  Refreshments will be available in the lobby, and donations will be accepted to benefit students in the music department.
Our music students have reached a very high level of musicianship this year!  Come to hear their amazing work, celebrate their achievements, and share in what is sure to be a very special night.
Student artwork will also be on display!  We will have a slide show of photography by all High School Art students!
You can also come early to complete the Mohawk School Climate Survey in the Library.  MTRSD is conducting a survey of students, parents, and staff in order to gather data for the purpose of improving our schools.  Computers will be available for parents who would like to complete the survey at that time.
May 30, Memorial Day Ceremonies
The High School Marching Band will be performing in parades and services in Ashfield (10am) and Plainfield (1pm).  Our students play an important role in these meaningful public ceremonies.  Ceremonies will take place rain or shine.
