High School Music News from Mr. Halligan
Happy Spring!  This a meaningful time of year for Mohawk Music students, who are reflecting on their achievements over the course of the year and preparing to share the fruits of their labor with the community in a series of important concerts and ceremonies.  Below you can find info about our springtime performance schedule, the activities of the Tri-M Music Honors Society, and Summer Band Camp.
I hope to see you at our Spring Concert on May 14!  Bring your friends and family – it will be a great evening of music!

Thursday, May 14, Spring Concert – 6:30pm, Mohawk Auditorium
Middle School and High School Bands and Choirs will perform, plus Strings, Jazz Band, and Select Chorus.  Refreshments will be available in the lobby, and donations will be accepted to benefit students in the music department.
Our music students have reached a very high level of musicianship this year!  Come to hear their amazing work, celebrate their achievements, and share in what is sure to be a very special night.
Also, student artwork will be on sale at the concert!  Students have made dozens of one-of-a-kind pieces out of vintage sheet music, watercolors, and inspirational quotes.  Pieces will sell for $8-$12, and all proceeds will benefit the music department.  You will definitely want one (or two) of your own!

Lyonnaise Recap
Select Chorus performed recently at the Mary Lyon Foundation’s “Lyonnaise” event.  The event included a showcase of student work that was supported by the foundation.  Select Chorus had received financial support from the foundation in order to work with a guest artist on a piece of 16th century opera, “With Drooping Wings.”  Thank you, Mary Lyon Foundation!  For pictures, please visit the MMA Website.
