Mohawk’s Select Chorus will participate in the High School Choral Festival in Keene
Keene State College on Friday, October 26. The chorus will present selections of their repertoire, receive feedback from Keene State Music Department faculty, hear performances by other high schools and KSC vocal ensembles, and participate in an all-sing with high school and college choral students. Music Director Scott Halligan reports, “This promises to be a fantastic event, and we're thrilled to have the opportunity to participate.”

The Mohawk Music Association meets the second Tuesday of the month at 5:00 p.m. in the school library. Meetings end at approximately 6:30 p.m. Meeting dates: November 13, December 11, January 8, February 12, March 12, April 9, May 14, and June 11. The planned Middle School Chorus trip to perform at the Springfield Falcons Hockey game on November 9 has been cancelled
Middle school music teacher Gina Glover will be in contact with students and families about potentially rescheduling this activity. The November 9 trip has been cancelled.

Mohawk collaborates with Double Edge Theatre
On Sunday October 14, Mohawk faculty Principal Lynn Dole, Assistant Principal Joey Kotright-Clark, Scott Halligan (Music Director), Julia White (HS history teacher), Rachel Silverman (Art Teacher, Heath/BSE), Jonathan Diamond (Drama Coordinator) and new Academy at Charlemont Head of School Mark Efinger attended an Open Training with the talented staff at Double Edge Theatre in Ashfield. As Drama Coordinator Jonathan Diamond reports, “It was a wonderful experience, that affirmed our belief in the powers of the human spirit and Advil!” The following Wednesday (October 17) Double Edge Theatre core ensemble member Hannah Jarrell and Double Edge interns Megan and Sara led a joint training for students in the middle and high school at Mohawk. We trained outdoors on spools and the aerial fabric hanging from the outdoor trapeze apparatus next to the Field Hockey playing field and worked on compositions (scene work) on the stage in the auditorium. Fifth and sixth grade students from Heath drama joined us for this exciting event.
This week’s guest artist at the Drama Club
This coming Wednesday (October 24) Mohawk Drama Club will host Chrysalis Theatre Music Director Pan Morigan. Pan is an award-winning vocalist, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer. She recorded her album "Castles of Gold, Songs and Stories of Irish Immigration" with Frank McCourt, author of the Pulitzer Prize winning Angela's Ashes, and has toured with Bobby McFerrin and his Voicestra. Pan will lead a workshop on voice training for actors. All are welcome. Mohawk Drama Club meets every Wednesday from 2:30 – 5:00 pm in the auditorium.
