4.  Music News

Music Director Scott Halligan reports that the Select Chorus had a great experience at the Cantate! High School Choral Festival at Keene State College on October 26! Our students performed for a packed auditorium and had the honor of being coached by a member of the KSC music faculty. Students also heard some amazing performances by groups from around New England, and benefited from the coaching that was given to each group. Senior Kaitlin Grant writes, "The festival was fun and informative. I learned a lot both from listening to other ensembles perform and be critiqued, and by being critiqued ourselves." The Festival ended with performances by KSC's superb vocal ensembles, a rousing all-sing with hundreds of voices joined together, and a campus tour given by a Mohawk alumnus. It was a memorable day, and we look forward to returning next year!

Wear loose comfortable clothing and sneakers or other comfortable footwear. Regardless of which days you attend COME ON TIME. There will be sign-up sheets in the main office and the music room. More details can be found on the Drama Program class pages:

The Drama Program class pages is the primary ways Drama Coordinator Jonathan Diamond will be communicating with participants in the program and the cast and crew. So please take the time to familiarize yourself with them. In addition to posting theater related announcements (cancellations, rehearsal schedules, etc.), the Drama Program Class Pages provide answers to many commonly asked questions about the play.

The pages also include information on the program in general, including an overview of this year's season and a roundup of successful events students have participated in thus far. And they're open to suggestions! Mr. Diamond writes, "Please tell us if there are any other topics or queries you would like to see addressed in these pages." If you have any additional questions about the play, the schedule or ways students and families can get involved in the drama program you can email Mr. Diamond at

Join us for a rousing evening of music and dance on Friday, November 30th at the Mohawk cafeteria:   6:00 pm reception, 7:00 pm performance, and 8:00 pm open dance.  Rani Arbo and daisy mayhem will again be playing live for a performance of new dances, many of them to songs from their new album, "One Bright Morning."  Dancers of all ages will present a performance in the Mohawk cafeteria which will be transformed into a vibrant arts venue with in-the-round seating and plenty of space for all to join in the dancing for the second half of the evening.  Join us for a pre-performance reception with food and acoustic music.   Last year’s event was a great success, inspiring these comments:
