Marching Bands and Colorguard in Memorial Day Parades

Mohawk's Marching Bands and Colorguard will be performing on Monday, May 28 at local Memorial Day observances

The Middle School band will perform at the Memorial Day events in Colrain. A parade will begin at 10 a.m. at the West Branch Cemetery. It will proceed down Adamsville Road to the bridge, and back into the cemetery, where exercises will be held. On the bridge there will be a ceremony for soldiers lost at sea. A wreath will also be presented and placed on the memorial stone in the cemetery. There will be a rifle salute both at the bridge and in the cemetery.

The High School Marching Band and Colorguard will perform at the Memorial Day events in Ashfield. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Town Hall and will proceed to Ashfield Plain Cemetery, where there will be a traditional ceremony with speakers, flags, music and flowers on the veterans graves with ceremonies at the war monuments. The parade will return to Town Hall for a closing prayer. A chicken barbecue will be held at the First Congregational Church after the parade.

The High School Marching Band and Colorguard will also participate in Memorial Day events in Plainfield beginning at 1:00 p.m.
